In 2010, I received a generous set of oil paints for my wedding shower. I didn't know how to start, and my art professor husband encouraged me to start by trying to mix colors I had seen and recreate them. This started a project over the next 1-1/2 years where I'd challenge myself to notice colors on my bike ride home from work, or exploring Philly with friends. I'd try to recreate and record the colors and remember something tangible. Some were in oil paint, but many were in watercolor and inks as my time was limited with work. This project has stuck with me and years later, the memories are still strong. The entire project can be viewed here.
